Don Kelson Hydros

Don Kelson Hydros

3rd generation racer Shaun Kelson is the grandson of the famous boat builder and Honor Squadron Member Don Kelson. After many years of racing various vintage hydroplanes restored at the Don Kelson Hydroplane shop, in 2018 Shaun decided it was time to get a hydroplane of his own. Naturally there was no choice other than to get a Kelson Hydroplane. Originally known as The Darkhorse, and then Cat Ballou, Shaun quickly renamed the boat to non other than “The Don” after his grandfather. The Don can be seen at nearly every Region 10 Inboard event putting on exiting exhibitions of what races looked like over 30 years ago.

Firefox Racing

Firefox Racing

We support our military service members and veterans for their service to our country. The Firefox Racing Team is comprised of a military veteran crew and honorary active duty service members. We acquired the boat from the Bertram family at the end of the 2018 race season. The boat has a long history of racing in the Pacific Northwest and is one of the few boats still running that is made from wood construction. Last year driver Michael Jarvis teamed up with Barry Eacret and fellow driver Kevin Eacret and were crowned APBA National High Points Champions. This year, we look to run two boats the E-6 Raining Thunder E350 (5 liter) and the A-24 Firefox Racing “Sidewinder”.
